WiMAX
Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access. A wireless network that covers an area on the scale of a city based on the IEEE 802.16 specification. A single antenna can cover a maximum radius of approximately 50 km. A bandwidth of 20 MHz is used per channel to achieve wireless data communication speeds of up to 75 Mbps. The method used for mobile communication terminals is called mobile WiMax.
